The clip showcases the country music icon as an angel who wants to bring Christmas cheer to everyone, especially those who need it most. Parton specifically focuses on changing the heart of a small town "scrooge" named Regina Fuller, played by Christine Baranski.
"You find that light, and it will lead you to the part of you you lost," angel Parton tells Fuller. "The part that can be happy."
Christmas on the Square, directed and choreographed by Debbie Allen, will premiere November 22 on Netflix. In addition to Parton and Baranski, the movie also stars Jenifer Lewis, Treat Williams, Jeanine Mason and more.
"One month until #ChristmasOnTheSquare is available on @netflixfamily!" Parton wrote on Instagram alongside the trailer. "I can’t wait for you and your loved ones to enjoy this holiday musical! I hope we can all come together and sing along on November 22. #HereForTheHolidays."
It will also feature 14 original songs from her new album, some of which can be heard in the trailer below.
Parton's new Christmas album, A Holly Dolly Christmas, was officially released on October 2. The project features several special guests including Miley Cyrus on "Christmas Is," Billy Ray Cyrus on "Christmas Where We Are" and Michael Bublé on "Cuddle Cozy Down Christmas."
Additionally, fellow country music icon, Willie Nelson, joined Parton for a remake of the Christmas classic, "Pretty Paper," while Jimmy Fallon offered a comedic take on Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You." Parton's own brother, Randy, appears on the album as well on a song called "You Are My Christmas."
A Holly Dolly Christmas, produced alongside Kent Wells, is Parton's first holiday project in 30 years. See a full track listing here.
