Randy Travis confirmed the release date of his next song after delivering his first new studio recording in more than a decade last year. Travis, 65, debuted his groundbreaking single, “Where That Came From,” with the help of AI (Artificial Intelligence).

The 2024 ballad was the first from Travis since suffering a stroke in 2013, which left him with lasting damage to the part of his brain that controls speech and language. Still, the beloved country star recovered, and said he “never thought I would be able to have a hand in music production of any kind, but by God’s grace and the support of family, friends, fellow artists and fans, I’m able to create the music I so dearly love.” Travis’ friends and family, including his wife, Mary, shared their “emotional” reactions when they listened to “Where That Came From” for the first time. Mary told iHeartCountry at the 59th ACM Awards that “it was so emotional for him and I could hardly hear because I was crying so loud. It was so beautiful to hear that voice. I waited 11 years just to hear that voice.”

“When I began my recovery almost 12 years ago many things changed, but one thing stayed the same - my desire to share new music and create new memories. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to continue doing that thanks to family, friends, fans, and God’s grace,” Travis shared in a new post on Wednesday (January 29), which ends with a sneak peek of the unreleased song. “After my last release I told you there would be more where that came from, and I’m excited to jump back in the saddle and release a brand-new recording, ‘Horses In Heaven.’ I still remember the first time I stepped into those stirrups as a little boy, and my horses have been family to me ever since.”

Travis wrote as he shared a brief snippet of his next single, “this song is a special one, and I can’t wait for all of you to hear it.” “Horses In Heaven” will arrive on Friday (January 31).
