This year, February 2nd is National Wear Red Day! Why Go Red? Heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year, killing approximately one woman every 80 seconds. So “Wear Red Day,” which takes place on the first Friday in February, was created to raise awareness and fund the fight against heart disease and stroke. That’s because 80% of cardiac and stroke events can be prevented with education and action.
By participating in events – and donating money – you help support educational programs to increase women’s awareness and critical research to discover scientific knowledge about cardiovascular health. Find out more at honor.americanheart.org.
