Glen Campbell passed away this week at age 81 after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease, and many stars paid tribute to music legend. Well, John Mayer was one of those stars, and gave a musical shout out to Glen during his concert in Nashville.
John performed Glen’s classic “Gentle On My Mind” at his show at Bridgestone Arena, telling the crowd, “I’m going to play this song with more love than precision,” adding, “I’m going to play it because it’s my favorite song in the world. It was performed by Glen Campbell, who sadly passed away today. Whether I play it right or wrong, I’d rather have played it.”
