The suicide rate among teenaged girls hit a 40-year high in 2015. Rates among girls doubled, and rose by over 30% among teen boys and young men between 2007 and 2015, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention finds.
“This increase in suicide rate is very concerning,” said Dr. Moutier of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Economic recessions, exposure to violence and cyber-bullying are on the list of factors.
