Info From Music Row 12/05/2025

In case you missed it...

As we're now into December, year-end lists will be coming fast and furious. We already told you yesterday that Morgan Wallen's "I'm The Problem" album was the most listened to album on Apple Music over the last year; today comes more news further establishing the country singer as a once-in-a-generation superstar. In Spotify's "Spotify Wrapped" recap of 2025, "I'm The Problem" was named the #1 most-streamed album in the U.S., beating out other huge names like Kendrick LamarTaylor Swift and more. Just as impressive, Wallen's previous album, 2023's "One Thing At A Time," came in at #9 overall for 2025, more than two years after its release and while competing with the newer Morgan Wallen collection.

Way back in February 1975, Michael Murphey released the song "Wildfire," which would be one of the biggest pop hits of the year and would end up being his career record. Heading into the 80s, Murphey (going by the name Michael Martin Murphey) would forge a solid country career, with hits like "What's Forever For," "Still Taking Chances" and "A Long Line of Love." Fifty years after it was first released, "Wildfire" has been resurrected, with Murphey getting help from Cody Johnson on the re-recording. In a statement, Murphey said, "Over 50 years ago this song came to me in a dream, and after 50 years I can’t believe the impact it’s had. Cody Johnson’s voice was great and the combination was incredible to do together. I hope this song impacts more generations and the stories continue to be told of how ‘Wildfire’ moved them. Some songs are just brought to life through an amazing gift, ‘Wildfire’ is like that to me." A new visualizer, featuring scenes from the feature film "Wildfire: The Legend of the Cherokee Ghost Horse" which is based on the song, premiered yesterday. See the new video below...
