In case you missed it...

The Mavericks will join with some of their Nashville friends for a two night tribute to lead singer Raul Malo, who is battling cancer. The concerts, dubbed "Dance The Night Way," will be held at the Ryman Auditorium December 5 and 6, and while Malo will not be performing, he will be on hand to watch the festivities. The band will instead be fronted by a roster of Music City's finest, including James Otto, Jamey Johnson, Jeff Hanna, Jim Lauderdale, Jimmie Vaughan, Maggie Rose, Mandy Barnett, Marty Stuart, Patty Griffin, Ray Benson, Steve Earle, Wade Hayes and more. A portion of the proceeds from both shows will benefit Stand Up To Cancer.

Fifteen years after it dominated both pop and country radio, The Band Perry's "If I Die Young" has earned diamond status. It becomes only the 18th country song to reach that plateau; "diamond" is the highest designation a song or album can earn, officially selling over 10-million units in the U.S. The song would eventually top the country charts and reach as high as #14 on the pop charts, becoming the band's signature song and biggest hit.
