In case you missed it...

Kenny Chesney has topped the country charts dozens of times, but he's just topped a different chart for the first time. Chesney says he got a text from the editor of his new book "Heart Life Music." "When our editor sent a text asking to Zoom," Chesney said, "I figured he wanted to let us down easy. After all, 'The New York Times' is such a big deal…Everybody wants to be part of, if not number one on, their best-seller lists. Rather than send an email, obviously, he was going to soften the news." Instead, there was no letting down to be done. "Heart Life Music" was #1 on both the 'New York Times'' "Hardcover Nonfiction" and the "Combined Print & E-Book Nonfiction Best Sellers Lists." Kenny Chesney: chart-topping country legend and now, chart-topping author.

Reba McEntire is so busy these days, between "The Voice," "Happy's Place" and her career in music, that it's easy to forget she's been doing it for more than half a century. Her record label did not forget; Tuesday (November 11th) marked the 50th anniversary of Reba's first record deal with Mercury Records. Current MCA executives surprised her in front of a studio audience on the set of her sitcom "Happy’s Place," presenting her with a 50th Anniversary plaque. MCA CEO Mike Harris said, "Reba’s impact on country music is immeasurable. For fifty years, she’s set the standard for artistry, authenticity, and work ethic - inspiring generations of artists and fans alike. It’s an incredible honor for all of us at MCA to celebrate this milestone with her and continue the journey with one of the most defining voices in our genre." And that's just recognizing her music, not her extensive career in television and film, which deserves another plaque all its own.
