Netflix just dropped the hair-raising trailer for “Monster: The Ed Gein Story,” with Charlie Hunnam stepping into the role of the infamous Butcher of Plainfield. The series comes from the horror minds of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan and dives into how a quiet Wisconsin farm boy turned into the real-life inspiration for “Psycho,” “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre,” and “The Silence of the Lambs.” In the trailer, we see Hunnam as Eddie Gein, a reclusive and unassuming guy who goes off the rails after the death of his mother. Laurie Metcalf steps in to play the domineering matriarch, Augusta Gein, the figure who shaped his obsession. “Monster: The Ed Gein Story” premieres October 3rd on Netflix.
