Jamey Johnson and his wife Brittney have launched the Give It Away Foundation, a nonprofit organization named after the hit George Strait song that Johnson co-wrote. The foundation aims to support well-managed charities and assist communities during times of crisis, focusing on disaster relief, hunger relief, cancer research, and military support. Johnson has a long history of charitable work, including helping start the Nikki Mitchell Foundation for pancreatic cancer and supporting Toys for Tots through his Marine Corps connection. Brittney Johnson said volunteer work has always been important to her, and one thing she admired about Jamey when they first met was his "massive and generous heart." To support the fund, Johnson will donate a dollar for every ticket sold at participating shows and all proceeds from special T-shirt sales both at shows and online.
