In case you missed it...
When the news broke that Dolly Parton was teaming up with Khloé Kardashian for a new limited edition fashion line, it's understandable many thought it was an elaborate April Fool's Day joke. But apparently, "Joleans Jeans" is a very real line. The collection, a play on Parton's famous song "Jolene," features denim pieces decorated with shimmering rhinestones and other country-glam details inspired by Dolly's iconic style. "It was just a no-brainer to collaborate with Khloé Kardashian and Emma (Grede) from Good American, and then with a great name like Joleans jeans," Dolly said in a statement. "I mean it was just a win-win situation all around. Also, to have that girl power to say, 'Okay girls, let's just do something special,' and I think we did." The pieces are priced from $64 to $229 with sizes ranging from 00-30, XS-5X. "Joleans jeans" are available from the Good American website starting today.
More Morgan Wallen madness. As the dust continues to settle after his "Saturday Night Live" appearance, Morgan is the hot topic this week in country music.
- "SNL" castmember Kenan Thompson claims to be confused by Wallen's walk-off. "I don't know what goes through people's minds when they decide to do stuff like that. I don't know if he understood the assignment or not, or if he was really feeling a certain kind of way," Thompson told "Entertainment Weekly." "You see somebody before you get a chance to say hi or say good job or anything like that, they just dipping," he recalls. "I thought maybe he had to go to the potty or something."
- Meanwhile, "Page Six" reports that a professional lip-reader allegedly knows exactly what the singer said as the "SNL" credits rolled, and apparently it was pretty positive. Nicola Hickling broke down Wallen’s interaction with host Mikey Madison as well as the "SNL" cast and crew. "Thank you all so much,” Wallen allegedly said, adding that he had "a wonderful time"...if the lip-reader is to be believed.
- Whether he had a wonderful time or not, there are reports that Morgan backed out of a skit that led to Joe Jonas stepping in at the last minute. A source told "Page Six" that Wallen was asked to be part of a sketch featuring cast members Ego Nwodim, Chloe Fineman, Bowen Yang and Sarah Sherman, along with host Mikey Madison, singing about standing in lines in New York City. When the country singer opted out, Jonas was brought in to pinch-hit.
- While Wallen's "Get me to God's Country" comment has spawned some memes, leave it to the superstar to actually monetize the moment. Morgan revealed via Instagram last night that he is now selling hats and t-shirts inscribed with “Get Me to God’s Country,” via his official website. Or check it out below...
- Despite the aftershocks of his "SNL" appearance being slow to taper off, Morgan still has a job to do. Yesterday, he posted a clip of a new song called "Come Back As A Redneck," featuring a video of him doing country boy things with the caption, "maybe then you'll understand." The song was one of the tracks teased as being part of his upcoming "I'm The Problem" album during his "SNL" performance of "Just In Case."
