Doctors at a hospital in India were shocked at what they found when they operated on a man who came in complaining of severe stomach pains and a high fever. When the surgeons opened up Kuldeep Singh, 35, they found “lockets, chains, nuts, bolts, earphones, and many other objects inside the stomach,” according to the hospital director. Doctors soon diagnosed Singh, who swallowed roughly 60 objects, with a condition called pica, which is a mental health condition where the sufferer “compulsively swallows items that aren’t food.” Just in case you were thinking about trying this…don’t. After doing their best to repair the “severe wounds” in Singh’s stomach, he is currently on a ventilator in critical condition.
