Garth Brooks Says His Own Dive Bar Is Coming To Nashville

Garth Brooks is bringing his own dive bar to Nashville!

During a virtual press conference on Brooks' Inside Studio G, the country star revealed that he plans to open his own dive bar on Broadway in Nashville hopefully within the next two to three years.

"I’m going to say if you’re betting…kinda bet towards it happening," Brooks said referring to opening his own bar. "Cause it’s just something that’s coming in the future."

He continued on to explain how he wants it to be set up similar to Blake Shelton's Ole Red restaurant and bar in Nashville.

"But it’s going to be done the way we do it, so it’ll be its own place," he explains. "Very much like Blake’s is his own place, so we’re going to do it our own way. It’s coming in probably the next two-three years."

Brooks went on to say that the ideal location for his new bar will likely be on Broadway, running through the heart of Nashville.

"When you talk about Broadway, that is friends in low places right there," he adds. "It’s the perfect place."

Brooks update on a potential dive bar came in the same press conference in which he announced he is permanently removing himself from the running for CMA Entertainer of the Year. After winning a total of seven times throughout his career, Brooks says "it's time for somebody else to hold that award."

"You pretty much saw what happened after the CMAs, all the way through the new year. It got a little-- it wasn't fun, let's put it that way," Brooks said in the virtual press conference. "But there was one tweet that really stuck in my head. It said, 'Hey, man. This guy, why doesn't he just step down (and leave) the entertainer for the next generation?'"

Brooks went on to say that he "100% agreed" with the idea. "The last thing I want to do is seem ungrateful to the CMAs and everybody that has voted for us," he continued. "We are officially pulling ourselves out of entertainer of the year. And my number is seven, you guys know that. And we feel very lucky with seven. And it's time for somebody else to hold that award, know what that entertainer feels like. Because they're all out there busting their butts."
