Fourteen people were rescued yesterday from a sinking boat off the Southern California coast.
A 41-foot yacht started taking on water and sinking quickly. Harbor patrol officers in Newport Beach responded and found a good Samaritan vessel towing the boat which was nearly fully submerged. People on board started jumping into the water and were successfully rescued and no injuries were reported. The sinking is under investigation.
