The influx of artists from outside the genre into country music continues. Next up: Akon, and apparently this is an idea that's been brewing since before Post Malone, before Beyonce. The singer/rapper admits that this has been a process that's been in the making for quite some time. "This has been an idea for years, like forever," he tells "TMZ." "The project has been in motion for the last five years. But starting next month, y’all gonna start seeing all the releases. I’m actually redoing my whole catalog in country. I’m not even joking." His take is a little different, in that he's getting in the back seat while country artists drive. “They’re country artists featuring me," he explains. "They’re the ones performing them." No specifics as to who is involved or exactly when we'll start hearing some of the new music, so stand by.
