Wade Bowen and Ashley Cooke are slated to headline the kickoff of a two-part live-streamed event as a nod to the CBS drama Fire Country, which featured music by the two country artists (and others) in its first season.

Fire Country premiered last year, following “a young convict (who) joins a firefighting program looking for redemption and a shortened prison sentence. He and other inmates work alongside elite firefighters to extinguish massive blazes across the region,” its IMDb description reads. The show stars Max Thieriot, Kevin Alejandro and Jordan Calloway, among others. Kane Brown made his acting debut on the show, which also featured original music by cast member Billy Burke, and original songs written specifically for Fire Country by Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley. Season 3 of Fire Country is slated to premiere on February 16, 2024.

Bowen said it was “an absolute blast to be in a different setting than I’m used to,” performing in the intimate, upcoming live-streamed CBS event. It was filmed last month in Nashville, Tennessee. “Everything was so pro and I am excited for people to get a chance to hear my music who may have not before.

“It is one of the cooler experiences as a songwriter and artist the moment your music comes on the TV,” The Texas-born artist added of his music featured on Fire Country. “You kind of lose touch with where you are and whats going on — just surreal really. The songs always sound better on TV, too.”

The first part of the two-part live-streamed event, featuring performances by Bowen and Cooke and hosted by CMT’s Cody Alan, is slated to premiere on Friday evening (December 8) (8PM, ET/7PM, CT/5PM, PT). Bowen and Cooke will perform leading into, and during breaks of, a special episode of Fire Country’s first season, per CBS. Each live-streamed event will premiere on the network’s YouTube channel and on each artist’s social media accounts. Details about the second live-streamed performance — including the performers and date — will be announced at a later time. Watch sneak peeks of Bowen's and Cooke's performances below:
