In case you missed it...
It seems that this year, perhaps more than ever, country musicians use their platforms (and their money) for the greater good. Hardly a week goes by we don't hear about another star doing something good for someone other than themselves. Morgan Wallen just came off the Concert For Carolina (itself an amazing example of musicians doing good), when we hear of yet another cool move from the superstar. "Billboard" magazine reports the singer's Morgan Wallen Foundation is donating $500-thousand worth of musical instruments to schools in need. 14 cities where Wallen played on his "One Night At A Time" tour will benefit. It's called the "One Instrument at a Time" initiative, and it's a partnership with Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, which donates instruments to under-funded music programs at K-12 schools.
Lee Greenwood announced his imminent retirement last year, so perhaps this is a passing of the torch? The country legend is teaming up with viral country singer Drew Jacobs on a newly reimagined, more rock-centric take on Lee's classic "God Bless The USA." Jacobs gained Internet renown for his rockish takes on country classics, like "The Thunder Rolls," by Garth Brooks, "God’s Country" by Blake Shelton, “Whiskey Lullaby” by Brad Paisley & Alison Krauss, and others. The song officially drops Friday; check out a snippet of the song below...
