Here's The Alexa Skill That'll Have Santa Picking Out Your Christmas Music

As we make our way through the holiday season, we're inundated with the same Christmas classics playing over and over again. However, iHeartRadio has created an Alexa skill called iHeart Santa that will help you avoid that nuisance by selecting Christmas music that is tailor-made for your taste.

All you have to do is tell Alexa to open the skill by saying, "Alexa, talk to Santa Claus" or "Alexa, open iHeart Santa," or "Alexa, ask iHeart Santa for Christmas music." If you want to get right down to business, you can simply open the Alexa app on your phone, look for the Skills selection in the side menu and search "iHeart Santa."

From there, you're onto a convo with Santa, so he can make sure he's selecting a playlist that goes along with your very own holiday mood. It's a simple "yes" or "no" conversation that'll help him find festive tunes that hit on your taste. We're talking "reindeer jokes, silly songs and Christmas fun," cuts that "millennials have never heard of," "country holiday favorites" or maybe none of the above. Make sure you continue to answer "no" until you have stumbled across Christmas music that fits your taste. After you answer "yes," Santa will begin playing a related and commercial-free iHeartChristmas Radio station. That's that easy!

Now, iHeart Santa only works with second-generation hardware, so if you have a device like the first-generation Echo or Echo Dot, you're out of luck. Thankfully, there are almost two weeks left until Christmas, so make sure you add those new devices to your Christmas lists. That includes the Echo Plus ($119.99 at Amazon.com), Echo Show ($149.99 at Amazon.com) and Echo Spot.
