Shakira has announced this season will be her last one as a coach on The Voice.

The Colombian-born megastar reveals in a backstage interview the hit NBC show was “always a temporary thing for me to do.”

“Honestly, I’ve had a blast. I love the show,” she adds. “I love the people on the show, the producers, the fellow coaches. It’s been real fun. Right now I have to go on with my life as an artist. I’m not really a TV celebrity. I have to prep a tour and also do other stuff like being a mother.”

Shakira’s last remaining artist, country singer Kristen Merlin, was eliminated during on Tuesday night’s results show, leaving final three artists Josh Kaufman (Team Usher), Christina Grimmie (Team Adam) and country singer Jake Worthington (Team Blake) to battle it out on next week’s season finale.

Gwen Stefani and Pharrell have been announced as new coaches for season 7 of The Voice, and returning coach Christina Aguilera will reportedly replace Shakira on season 8.
