Blake Shelton had made history with his latest No. 1 hit “My Eyes.”

The song is his 12th consecutive chart-topper, which earns him the distinction of the most back-to-back No. 1 songs in monitored country airplay history.

The significance of the accomplishment isn't lost on Blake.

Early in his career he had a pretty long dry spell when it came to hits, and he certainly hasn't forgotten about it.

“Whatever that path was that I ended up on that got me here now,” Blake says, “I wouldn't trade a minute of it.”

Gwen Sebastian – a contestant on Blake’s team on the second season of The Voice – joins him on “My Eyes.”
